Lee Montessori — Brookland
Founded in 2014, Lee Montessori — Brookland offers a highly personalized public Montessori education to a diverse community of 240 students in the former St. Paul’s Seminary campus in Ward 5. At scale, this campus will support more than 325 students in Primary, Lower Elementary, and Upper Elementary classrooms (PK3-Grade 6).
The school is in high demand among DC families with one of the top ten longest waitlists for elementary charter schools in Washington, DC. More than 750 students were placed on the waitlist for the 2019-2020 school year.
Lee Montessori — Brookland is located in the lower two levels of the St. Paul’s Seminary building. (The Washington Leadership Academy high school occupies the upper floors.) The driveway to the building is accessible from 4th Street NE.

Before and After Care
Lee Montessori provides before care for students from 7:00 am - 8:30 am, and aftercare from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. In addition, parents may pay to enroll their children in a variety of clubs in the afternoons. Past clubs have included Spanish, karate, drama, Hip Hop Dance, clay funshop, lego robotics, running club, creative movement, and more. Limited scholarships are available. Family Teacher Association — Brookland
The Brookland’s Family Teacher Association (FTA) works to enhance and support the educational experience and to foster a sense of community through family engagement, volunteerism and financial support.
Lee Montessori is proud to provide a nutritious and tasty breakfast and lunch. Lunch is served in the classroom where staff and students gather together, much like a family would at meal time.
